What is the difference between phytotherapy (herbal medicine) and essential oils?
Phytotherapy refers to medicine based on plant extracts. This word comes from the Greek “phytos” meaning plant and “therapeuo” meaning to cure. The plants may come in different forms. Essential oils are therefore part of phytotherapy.
An essential oil is a liquid and aromatic extract generally obtained through steam distillation of an aromatic plant, which concentrates the volatile and hydrophobic compounds. Essential oils contain many irritants or allergens.
Does Ylo plant active concentrate contain essential oils?
The plant active concentrate is not made out of essential oils, which are often allergenic, irritating, or corrosive.
Ylo plant active concentrate is made from plant extracts.
What is Ylo’s mode of action?
Ylo’s effectiveness is based on the combined and synergistic action of phytotherapy and acupressure. The active concentrate contains plants with specific and known properties. The application of this active concentrate on selected acupressure areas as well as activation of these areas with the pen grants Ylo immediate effectiveness that increases with every use.
What is a meridian?
Meridians are invisible “axes” that run across the whole body along referenced paths. 12 in number (the main meridians), they start off on the surface of the skin and lead to deep organs. They are linked together. In traditional Asian medicine, they symbolize the pathways of energetic flow. An energetic flow that circulates well in the meridians will allow you to feel good, have a clear head, and grant you physical reserves. On the contrary, a blocked or a poorly circulating energetic flow will generate feelings of heaviness and ill-being. When the energetic flow is blocked in a meridian, we need to seek the rebalancing of this knot or blockage. This is precisely where acupressure comes into play.
What are acupressure areas?
Acupressure areas are located on meridian pathways. These are some sort of openings that allow access to the meridian. By analogy, if the meridian represented an underground line, the acupressure zones would be the stations.
How do acupressure zones function?
In traditional Asian medicine, the manifestation of daily pains is linked to a circulatory imbalance within the meridians. The activation of acupressure zones using the Ylo pen will help dissolve this blockage in order to restore a harmonious and balanced circulation.
How can I be sure I am activating the right zone if I do not feel anything?
Acupressure areas are often sensitive to touch. If you do not feel anything, you may not be on the area. Apply pressure lightly around the marked area. You should be able to find the sensitive areas this way.
The acupressure areas guide, provided in all packages and on the Ylo mobile application, is there to help you localize the areas to activate.
When I activate the acupressure areas, it hurts. Is this normal?
Acupressure areas are often sensitive to touch. It is therefore normal to feel a sensation when you activate it (tingling, discomfort, slight pain…). If the sensation is too strong, apply less pressure with the pen. The treatment should be a pleasant experience.
Can I use Ylo if pregnant?
Ylo is a natural cutaneous acupressure solution that you can use while pregnant, regardless of the symptom. However, the activation of certain acupressure areas is not suitable. We have thus adapted our protocol.
Make sure you use the protocol for pregnant women.
Can I use Ylo on my child?
Ylo has been developed for use by children over 3. The absence of essential oils confers great safety.
A medical opinion is always necessary for a child, especially in case of recent onset or aggravation of disorders.
Can I use 2 active plant concentrates at the same time?
The activation areas correspond to specific symptoms. As such, you can use several active concentrates at the same time to relieve several symptoms.
How many different plants make up the Ylo composition?
Each Ylo formula contains a combination of 3 to 4 plant-based active ingredients from Asian pharmacopoeia to obtain optimal effectiveness in treating disorders.
Is there a risk associated with using Ylo too often?
Ylo was developed to be used as often as needed. Tolerance tests under medical control have highlighted its high degree of safety following multiple daily uses. You can therefore use Ylo as often as you like.
How long does Ylo keep?
The Ylo products keep 9 months after opening.
Can I use Ylo orally, rectally, or vaginally?
Ylo has been developed to work efficiently and safely by dermal route through acupressure. It is contra-indicated to use Ylo in other ways (orally, rectally, or vaginally).
What should I do if the plant formula come into contact with the eyes or the mucous membranes?
Rinse thoroughly with water or saline solution and consult a doctor if irritation persists.
What should I do in case of an adverse reaction?
The Ylo product range has been specially formulated for sensitive skins. However, if you have an adverse reaction, we advise you to contact us and/or inform your doctor or your pharmacist.

Why do our products not always have the same smell?
Since Ylo is made up of plant-based ingredients, the odour may vary slightly from batch to batch. However, this variation does not lead to any changes in the quality or the characteristics specific to the products.
Are your products tested on animals?
No, none of our products are tested on animals because modern research methods enable us to avoid resorting to such procedures.
Do Ylo products contain preservatives or chemical dyes?
The Ylo product range does not contain chemical dyes. All ingredients are of natural origin, with the exception of the preservative, sodium benzoate complex and potassium sorbate, which is accepted in natural and organic cosmetics. This “identical to nature” synthetic preservative is naturally present in certain plants. It has been added to ensure the complete product safety against bacteria, yeasts, and molds.
Where are the products in the Ylo product range manufactured?
All formulations of the Ylo product range have been developed and manufactured by pharmacists and doctors in France. The manufacturing process is carried out according to Good French Manufacturing Practices of pharmaceutical products.

The delivery method is as follows:

The cardboard boxes, paper guides, and cardboard wedges holding our products are recyclable.
We invite you to dispose of them in the bins foreseen to this effect.
